Organic Chemistry
Organic chemistry is a branch of chemistry that studies the structure, properties, reactions and synthesis of carbon-based compounds.
Organic chemistry has always been associate with life. This is a historical false perception and does not reflect the truth. Life is not only dependent on organic chemistry, but also has a significant bond with inorganic chemistry. For example, many enzymes contain metals such as iron and copper. The structure of sea shell, teeth and bones contains both organic and inorganic substances. Inorganic chemistry is concerned with simple carbon compounds (oxides, acids, salts, carbides) other than elemental carbon, which contain only carbon-carbon bonds.
The different shapes and chemical reactivity of organic molecules provide a surprising change in the tasks, and biochemical responses of that living systems utilize enzyme catalysts . Directions in organic chemistry include chiral synthesis, green chemistry, microwave chemistry, fullerenes and mioscopy.
